BigCommerce, a leading open SaaS e-commerce platform for fast-growing and established brands, today announced that Tottenham Hotspur, one of the biggest football brands in the world, has chosen the platform of BigCommerce to optimize its online store and boost its expansion into international markets. Launching on BigCommerce will allow Tottenham Hotspur to further enhance e-commerce features including frictionless checkout, personalized shopping and a seamless experience across online and offline channels.

“BigCommerce’s Open SaaS approach was a big winner for us,”

“Their flexible e-commerce platform, combined with their ecosystem of integration partners, creates endless opportunities for us to modernize our online store, deliver amazing features to our fans, and support our continued growth across the globe.”

Duncan Pass, Head of Retail, Tottenham Hotspur.

BigCommerce International Features Pivot

Tottenham Hotspur will leverage BigCommerce’s platform to further enhance the capabilities of its popular online store and the fan experience, not only in the UK, but also in APAC and North America, where the club has a large and growing fan base.

Tottenham Hotspur partnered with BigCommerce because of the platform’s internationalization features such as multi-store frontage and price lists, flexibility, and its integrated partnerships with checkout and payment solutions such as Fast and Global-e.

“Having worked with Tottenham Hotspur on their existing digital retail business for the past 12 months, the opportunity to reinvent their online store was exciting,”

“We are delighted and proud to be a preferred BigCommerce partner chosen by Tottenham Hotspur to deliver an engaging retail experience to its online fans.”

James Greenwood, Director, Digital Retail Agency Partner, Strawberry.

Tottenham Hotspur is the latest addition to the e-commerce platform’s list of sports brands such as Club Deportivo Guadalajara SA de CV (Chivas) and Utah Jazz, all of which benefit from software-as-a-service capabilities to cope at traffic peaks.

“Retail is a critical revenue driver for any sports brand. As teams continue to expand their reach beyond their home cities, they want a powerful e-commerce platform that can grow with them and make it easy for their fans to support the team no matter where they live, what currency they use or what language they speak,”

Jim Herbert, senior vice president and general manager EMEA, BigCommerce.
