Nexion launches SmartRooms initiative, online store

Global cloud service provider Nexion has added critical infrastructure monitoring to its solution portfolio, combining traditional IT monitoring and security at the physical edge by connecting IT to facility management.

Nexion announced additions to its portfolio, including:

  • A fast-growing new revenue stream selling mission-critical IIoT solutions.
  • Bridging the gap between cybersecurity and facility security.
  • Added another US-based technology partner in Australia and New Zealand, as a primary distributor for AVTECH Software’s product line.
  • The new e-commerce site to simplify customer shopping and automate delivery is live. Providing the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) for all types of critical infrastructure.

According to Nexion, 30% of all downtime, data loss and damage businesses face are due to environmental factors.

“Every organization monitors their network security to prevent outages, but how many monitor their critical infrastructure? NEXION now provides a unique solution called SmartRooms and simplifies purchasing through the website,” Nexion notes.

“NEXION’s focus and core competence is to bridge the gap between cybersecurity/network monitoring and environmental risks. Beginning with distribution in Australia and New Zealand with AVTECH Software, NEXION now provides a single-source solution that automatically discovers devices on the network, logs and graphs sensor data, alerts users when environmental events occur or that thresholds are exceeded, and enables reporting, response automation, and more. Automatic corrective actions resolve issues for lightning response, enabling “disaster prevention” instead of “disaster recovery.”

“According to Gartner, the enterprise IoT platform market will reach US$7.6 billion in 2024 with a CAGR of 31%. Growth is being driven by both on-premises and cloud deployments by manufacturing, transportation, and utility verticals, among other sectors. IoT PaaS is intended to be the primary enabler of digital IoT scenarios.

“To facilitate purchase and speed up spot ordering, NEXION this week launched its website that offers a full range of products to monitor work environment risk factors such as temperature, fluid levels, airflow, humidity, access/egress and more .

“Gartner defines the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platforms market as a set of integrated software capabilities. These capabilities cover efforts to improve asset management decision-making, as well as operational visibility and control of plants, depots, infrastructure and equipment in asset-intensive industries. These efforts also occur in the related operating environments of these industries.

“The IIoT platform can be consumed as a technology suite or as an open, general-purpose application platform, or both in combination. The platform is designed to meet the requirements of safety, security and mission criticality associated with industrial assets and their operating environments The IIoT platform software that resides on devices – such as controllers, routers, access points, gateways and systems edge computing – is considered part of a distributed IIoT platform.
